Part III - The Mammoth Puzzle Game ( Fragments )

The Mammoth Puzzle Game...

You leave the completed Auroch fragments on the rock and make your way up the hill. You hope the morning mists will clear so you will be able to see the mountains to the north. Your destination later.

You take out the second scrap paper of the map fragments you found in an the old box in your attic back in the mainland a few months ago. Only now, you have built up the courage to head out to this magical island to find out what these maps lead to. You open this new map fragment. It looks simple as you hike up the hill, north through the scattered pines the path gets more rocky as you move towards a red cross on the map named Top Of The Hill".... From there you should be able to see a nice view of the distant mountains. Lets hope the mists will be burnt off by the rising sun by then...

The soft grass path gets more rocky and stone slabs placed many years ago to act as a rough path gradually turn into broken rocks. Large rocks turn into boulders on each side of the path. They have a timeless, ancient sentinel like presence. As you climb nearer to the top of the hill, the wind stars to get a little stronger, a little cooler. This is a good thing because the rising sun is starting to heat everything up. You are getting quite hot.

After walking for about half an hour, you need a rest. You wipe the sweat off your forehead. As you sit down, you realize this old path was once used by ancient folk. In the same way as the Auroch pieces were just lying there. Another puzzle, now a Mammoth. You feel rather than leaving them on the ground, they need to be put back in place in the same way you did with the Auroch. The shape of the final Mammoth you can see on a large flat boulder. Place the fragmented stone pieces back onto this original shape. Do this quickly, the sun is getting higher in the sky and you should move on soon...

You leave the completed Mammoth on the boulder. Perhaps it will be there for a very long time. Why were these animal shapes made, who made them? This is quite a mysterious island. Another thing completed to make this island a little more joyful...

You now head further up the hill. The boulders and rocks turn more into broken scree as you near the top of the hill it gets less steep. The wind is cool here and the sun is golden in the sky. What will the view look like. Stay tuned for part III...
